With the HERbyJMA exhibition, JM.ALLEN explores cultural diversity.
Growing up in Brooklyn, New York, Copenhagen, Denmark and herself of mixed racial decent, she has had first-hand experiences with being seen solely based on her skin-tone or hair texture. Following the making of new international acquaintances like herself, JM.ALLEN was inspired to create this collection of portraits. All while inspired by her childhood in New York in the 90's and ethnic appearances, her main goal was to portray women that could be of any origin.
